Welcome! Today is Palm Sunday. On the first day of Holy Week Jesus rode into ancient Jerusalem on a lowly donkey. On that day a large crowd praised him and laid palm tree branches along his way. Later that week though, the Jewish leaders persuaded the crowd to have Jesus executed. The week had started with praising Jesus, but ended with Jesus being crucified. Then he would rise from the dead the following Sunday for the salvation of all who trust in him.
For 1700 years the church has celebrated Palm Sunday. Let us celebrate with true shouts of praise today. Therefore, the theme of today's service is, "Hail the King who humbly comes to save us!"
— Personal prayer before worship: Dear Jesus, you humbly rode into Jerusalem on the first Palm Sunday. Then you humbly became obedient to death on a cross. You clearly did this in my interest and for my salvation from sin. Lead me to humbly serve my neighbor because of your humble acts of love for me. Through your name I pray. Amen.
— The service is printed in this bulletin. God bless your worship via online means today.
