Almighty God, you gave your one and only Son to be the light of the world. Grant that your people, illumined by your Word and sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ's glory, that he may be known, worshiped, and believed to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and forever. First Lesson

1 Samuel 3:1-10

Second Lesson

Paul warns Christians about perverting Christian liberty into sexual immorality. We use our bodies to show that we belong to Christ and to show that the holy Spirit lives in us.

John 1:43-51

As Jesus calls Philip and Nathanael to follow him, he shows his divine knowledge of all things and promises his disciples that they will see even greater things. They respond by following his call and by sharing the good news with others.
